Growing Up

These little seedlings make me think of my little seedling: Little Brother. He keeps changing and growing, and I keep thinking I need to take more photos of him.
Every day there is something new.
Today he has banana breath. He wasn't too sure what that slime in his mouth was, but at least he didn't gag.
He's started waking up from his naps having a little conversation with his mobile. And when I come in he greets me with a huge smile. On the noisier side he's started making these high pitched screams when he wants my attention.

Pause and Repeat

Drinking a lot of coffee these days. Just to pause. Think. Relax. Find time for me. Helps when sleep is scarse, and everyone else monopolises my time.
Ah, the little things.
The cup, by the way, is by tine k home. They have loads of cool stuff. And the cappuccino was enjoyed at one of my favourite cafés, Ostehuset. They have loads of good food. Like the BBQ prawn sandwitch below.

Playfull Being

It's fascinating how quickly things change with a little baby. This toy was uninteresting just a little week ago. Now he grabs it and tries to shove the whole thing into his mouth.
I talk to him all the time. And it seems he understands me, or at least my tone of voice. And he gives back. In mealt your heart smiles. In bring tear to your eyes giggles.
When his little hand grabs mine I lose my breath. His warmth and softness such a comfort for a Mamma who is totally in love with this little human.
And when he sleeps. Peace. World peace. And when he wakes up I realise how much I missed him.
... and then he smiles, giggles and grabs that toy. A little playfull miracle. Evolving. Changing. Every day.

Bed and Bathtime Bliss

I bet you expected a picture of me in bed, or in the bath, but you'll have to do with some floppy tulips illustrating the mellowness of my evening.

The bedtime refers to Little Brother. I think I'm on the way to getting him to bed properly, not just drugged and asleep from boob juice. And that at the good time of eight thirty pm. Yesterday it was at nine thirty (and I'm aiming for six thirty to seven-ish).
Anyone who has had kids can relate. I finally have a little evening to myself.

And what did I do with my newly found freedon. A bath. In out new bathtub. Bliss. Bliss. Bliss. But the restlessness caught up with me there too. I think I have to stare at these tulips some more.

Forging Friendships
It's funny how being plonked into the same life situation connects people. I'm now a member of the official baby neighbourhood, and here we talk about spit-up, pooey diapers and babysmiles. I love it!
And in these connections I realise how intertwined people are. This person knows that person, and suddenly they are not so strange anymore.
Just spent the last three hours talking to girls who not so long ago were complete strangers.
A cup of coffee and a brownie is all it takes.

Moose Breakfast
Why is it that baby always wakes up when Mamma makes herself breakfast?
Moose 'kakemann' (cakeman), vanilla yoghurt and blueberries scoffed between boobs. Firstmentioned made with the bigger boy yesterday.

Waiting
There is a lot of waiting going on lately. Mostly wating for a baby, but also for Christmas. I find myself very in tune with the shops Christmas-preparations this year. Not when it comes to buying presents, but the comfort of slowly getting into the mood.
Now it has to be said that in Stavanger Christmas doesn't appear to early unless you go looking for it. And that's why I like it.
So while I'm waiting I'm off to buy little trinkets for Little Mans Advent calender. A gift a day. Nothing huge. For December.
... and maybe some more Chrismas decorations.

Different Angles
My house. Frog view.
I can't help but think about what Little Brother is seeing inside my tummy, and the shock and the brightness and cold he'll feel when he comes out.
Little Man totally understood that it is up to the baby to decide when he wants to come, but I have to admit that I'm getting a bit impatient to meet this little alien that keeps beating me up on the inside.
Then again.
I have the best babysitter in town at the mo, and as soon as he enters the outside world our lives will be turned upside down.
Talk about different angles.

Floating
On Fridays I get to float around in a warm pool just like Little Brother in my tummy.
And I can imagine it feels a little like this seals life. Weightless, gliding, effortless. One and a half hours of flying underwater. Of feeling the water move against my skin. Floating ion my back, my ears filling with water. Muffeled music. Splashy sounds.
Untill I have to get out of the pool. And I feel like an elephant again.
PS: My Mum took this shot while swimming with seals. Some of you might have seen it here before.

Setting Sun
Not that there is any sun today. The rain is intense. Big puddles forming that make me feel like I'm driving through Australian rivers in the rainy season.
This pumpkin makes me happy though. It greets me at my parents appartment door every day. We have been living here as we are doing up our house. It's coming along quickly now, and my time is concentrated with tile and tub decisions.
And it hits me that although I know our house is not growing on its own, we are in a very organic and evolving time. Seasons changing, house changing, baby growing and definitely life changing. And yeah, I know I have been rambling on about this for a while, but hey, that's what my live is evolving around at the mo.
And I promise to share som interior inspiration with you. I'm loving Ulrikas new blog, and am totally relating with her. She has a growing belly too, and is expecting in December. As well as she has a growing house. And she's posting all these inspiring interiors.
And now its back to sinks and paint.

Growing and Changing
Life is definitely changing these days. Not only the season, but also our house. We're doing it up, and have lived as nomads the last three weeks. By tomorrow we know we'll be put in the same place for another three weeks, and then hopefully back in the house by early October.
Another thing that is definitely changing is my body. So many kicks and punches on the inside that it feels like this Little Brother is going to pop through my skin. And with Autumn my mind set is changing too. Not being able to nest is also making me incredibly restless and leaving me with a feeling of having to do a thousand things at once but not getting anything done.
I have to stop myself from writing lists that only make me feel more unable to complete things.
I guess I need some sort of distraction.

Fireworks
Exactly the opposite of how I feel at the mo. I'm sluggish, congested and generally exhausted. But this was a nice night on the top of our neighbourhood. An oil-billionaire gift to Stavanger.

Lighting My Way
My mind is full of plans and schemes at the moment. I think it might be the little alien boy in my tummy reminding me that things are going to be very different. Very soon. Well at least in November (which, alarmingly, feels very soon at the moment).
But my mind is not on cots, prams and nesting. It's on the future. On photography. On the Rest of my Life.
I guess it is the inevitable change bringing it all on. But with this change comes a pause. Peace in the mundane. In smiles. Sleep. The little things.
And everything will speed up and slow down at the same time. Plans will be put on hold. Life will evolve around, well, living.
Untill the restlessness takes hold again. And then.
Who knows ...
