Birthday in the Sun

We've been having some beautiful summer days in the sun. One of them was spent with Lotte on her birthday. She turned five. And the cake. Pink of course.

Funny to think that last time neither Little Brother or Lottes little sister were born.

Little Brother

My Little Brother. 31 today. Doing a silly pose while we are lobster fishing. Also known as Handy Brother. Good at carrying heavy stuff and electric wiring.

... and at putting rubber bands on pinchy lobsters.

Six Months Today

This little man is getting bigger. A whole half year. We celebrated with home made chicken nuggets and chocolate cupcakes.

I Love My Mum

She is full of advice, even if I don't always take it. She listens, and gives me an honest answer. She makes the best pavlova ever. She will be there in a second if she knows I really need her. She sees through my bullshit. She's smart. She's a logistical genious. She sais funny things, and sais things funny. She understands. She cares. She is not a pushover. She's my Mum. I love you!

Self Gifting

I love this little figurine that I ordered online. And that it turned up on my birthday was even more fun. We've had a great weekend filled with friends and family. The sun is shining, and I'm off to lunch with a friend. Couldn't really get any better.

So now all we have to do is wait for Little Brother to decide to enter the outside world. Can't wait to meet him.

Dinosaur cake.

It's birthday weekend in the Buckle house. First out is Little Man whose real birthday is tomorrow, but he has already cheated in kindie on Friday, and with his mates today.

Tomorrow he gets to share the family celebration with Mamma. My b-day is on monday.

This is the perfect, moist chocolate cake, but if you are waiting for a recipie, this I don't feel like it is mine to post. Got it of a girlfriend who bakes beautifully, with detailed instructions. Baking is definitely my culinary achilles heel.

Tomorrows chilli on the other hand. You might just luck out.

Birthday Weekend

Exhausted after a bithday weekend, and there is another one tomorrow. Little Man was two (yes!) yesterday. Mine today. My age is easy to remember. On the eve before my 30th birthday I got the best present. Ever.

So tired. Will blog a good recipie for pizza baked goods later. Some pics of beautiful presents maybe?

Perhaps I'll manage relax when Little Mans sugar rush wears off and he's finally asleep.

PS: A little man arrived his morning too. My best friend had a little boy. Congratulations!

Two Today

Little Man is two today! Look how little he used to be. That is a big boy in the other picture. He refused to take his crown off after kindie (they celebrated it there yesterday). Too cold to only wear the crown tough. Oh how I love that little man.

Happy Birthday Dad

Next up in the birthday season is Dad. He is obsessed with lobsters at the mo. So I drew him one. In just under two months him and Mum are off to Australia to volunteer in conservation work. Counting penguins. I got him an unlined moleskin for sketching and writing memories. They will also blog about it on "Two Buckles Go Bush".

Today is about Dad. Happy Birthday. Love you loads.
