Then it might have wound up on a beach near me.
More treasure from a magical beachtrip on the last day of 2011.

Making Traditions
He's at that age where everything about Christmas is magical. Where little things become important, and queastions about Santa are frequent.
He's opening his advent calender and counting the days till Christmas. We're making kakemenner and presents. He's designed our cards.
But most importantly. We're making traditions together. I guess I'm setting the standard and will have to repeat it all next year.
And ten years from now I hope we're still doing the same things, and he still tells me he loves me and gives me those big hugs.

Break Fast (or Slow)
I love slow Saturday mornings to Big Mans frustration. I put it down to him not drinking coffee because who can resist lazying around with a paper, coffee and this?
... and yes. They are home made. Join me in the kitchen soon.

I'm not lost! I am traveling.
Seen at my favourite café.
Have already read the book, so I let it travel to someone else.
The words hit me with their profoundness though. Sometimes I "travel" at home not to feel so lost. You'll be suprised what seeing life trhough another pair of glasses might do.
I practice it here.
Every day.
I love Foodstorys slogan. Instant Karma. And with approximately five hours of sleep a night a good coffee feels like karma indeed.
It's called Bookcrossing, and although I havn't seen it in an organized form I've been practicing it for ages.
Anyone want a book?

Miniature Worlds
Small Worlds Project: Dragon Pillar. Pause while a clip is playing to share it.
Tilt Shift Video by Keith Loutit | Twitter | Facebook
I'm completely in love with Keith Loutits work. The Sydneyite makes fantastic little miniature worlds with a tilt shift lens and time lapse video.
Australia and tiny things combined must be the ultimate combination for Little MissBuckle. I can loose myself for hours in the videos.
Magical!
(... and I can't believe I havn't discovered him untill now)

Friday Reflections
Friday is slowing down.
Friday is prawns and avocado. Lemon. Mayo.
Friday is sunny, crisp weather. Although windy.
Friday is doing all the weekend shopping in one go and not worry about it for the rest of the weekend.
Friday is relaxing the rules.
Friday is knowing that there is no rush in the morning (but no lay-in either).
Friday is the promise of the rest of the weekend.

Pause and Repeat
Drinking a lot of coffee these days. Just to pause. Think. Relax. Find time for me. Helps when sleep is scarse, and everyone else monopolises my time.
Ah, the little things.
The cup, by the way, is by tine k home. They have loads of cool stuff. And the cappuccino was enjoyed at one of my favourite cafés, Ostehuset. They have loads of good food. Like the BBQ prawn sandwitch below.

Happy Saturday
I actually had a decent nights sleep (only woken up twice), got to sleep in and had bacon, eggs and beans for breakfast.
On the other hand I seem to be taking loads of photos of flowers lately. Must be my longing for spring.
Hope everyone else is having a good one too.

Good Friends
Oh, this just tugs on a proud Mammas heartstrings. My beautiful boys beaming at eachother. Happy Mothers Day for those of you celebrating it in Norway.
And for all of you having a 'normal' Sunday: Hug a Mummy today.

An Amazing Meal
... started with a goats cheeze and truffel profiterole.
Continued with a poached quail egg with salmon roe and lobster soup.
A king crab salad with sea urchin (a first for me).
Followed with a scallop with hazlenut soup and artichoke sorbet.
Cod with pumpkin puré and canneloni. This one was amazing, the cod flaking and melting in your mouth with the sweetness of the pumpkin.
Melon and basil sorbet.
Duck with foie gras and candied grapefruit (the latter too bitter for me).
A potato soup garnshed with parmesan flakes and shaved truffles. And a suprise inside of duck confit. Also a favourite.
Pickled pineapple with white chocolate snow and pistachio sponge.
... and ended with petit fours. Passionfruit macaroons. Chocolate truffles. Biscotti. Apple jelly. Profiteroles. Sigh. Can I go back today?

Bed and Bathtime Bliss
I bet you expected a picture of me in bed, or in the bath, but you'll have to do with some floppy tulips illustrating the mellowness of my evening.
The bedtime refers to Little Brother. I think I'm on the way to getting him to bed properly, not just drugged and asleep from boob juice. And that at the good time of eight thirty pm. Yesterday it was at nine thirty (and I'm aiming for six thirty to seven-ish).
Anyone who has had kids can relate. I finally have a little evening to myself.
And what did I do with my newly found freedon. A bath. In out new bathtub. Bliss. Bliss. Bliss. But the restlessness caught up with me there too. I think I have to stare at these tulips some more.

Invoking Memories
I've been going through my photos, pulling out favourites, to see what makes me tick (or rather click).
This photo is all memories and memory making. My own boy, and my best friends girl, running together were we ran together all those summers before.

Saturday Bliss
Big Brother went off with his grandparents to out cabin down south. We were suddenly three again.
Big Man went for a walk and took Little Brother with him. I was one.
I enjoyed these.

Forging Friendships
It's funny how being plonked into the same life situation connects people. I'm now a member of the official baby neighbourhood, and here we talk about spit-up, pooey diapers and babysmiles. I love it!
And in these connections I realise how intertwined people are. This person knows that person, and suddenly they are not so strange anymore.
Just spent the last three hours talking to girls who not so long ago were complete strangers.
A cup of coffee and a brownie is all it takes.
